Christ in you - His Kingdom in the world

You have an inheritance. It is your life in Christ today and every day. It is the treasure that is yours forever and more. It is who you are forever and now. It is the meaning of Christ your life in spirit and in truth. It is the truth that counts, that you are deeply loved at the Core of the universe and that not only will you live forever. Your spirit will expand with the infinite life of God. The other bonus is that God is alive in you every day.

The quote below by theologian J Baxter Kruger uncovers the meaning and implication of Christ come in our flesh and us come into the Spirit of fellowship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit in heaven and on earth.

Basically Kruger’s words mean this. Only Jesus understands His relationship with our Father. Heaven has given us the relationship of Jesus with His Father. Having received Jesus, He will live in you, explain the meaning of this relationship to you and impart its reality to your person, marriage, family and the society of the church. CHRIST IN YOU really is the hope and the reality of glory. Here’s the quote.

‘What happened on the Cross? Why did Jesus die? How do we understand the meaning of his death? The death of Jesus Christ was part of a seamless movement in which the
Triune God laid hold of the human race and decisively and sovereignly cleansed it of all alienation, quickening it with new life and lifting it up into union with the Father, Son and Spirit.

That’s your life today and every day. So away with seeking ‘more’ through externalities like more zeal, more attempts to earn fellowship with God by working up the fruits of the Spirit (If we worked them up they are not fruits), more fervent praise and worship or any and every attempt to demonstrate self-worth. Father has already declared your self-worth in the life, death and resurrection of His Son. In His Son He sees you.

You can live in certainty and confidence because you are in no way tied to self-justification, earning points with God, paying back Jesus for saving you or achieving intimacy with Jesus through any work of your own. You are living from where He has placed you. In God, in the fellowship with the trinity and in celebration of yourself and what you are doing in the moment and the season. Living in this Sabbath rest you can be assured of the fruitfulness of Jesus. There will be a stream of spirit-life flowing from the trinity through you into any barren situation that needs His resurrection and life.

We are alive in Christ because we have the life of the Father and Spirit pulsing in our being. We are alive because submerged in Christ we are revealed as our true selves, not smothered in some other personality or knocked off course by someone else’s Ishmael, but doing what He means us to be doing in the season and the moment because we and Father are one.

‘But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do’ Eph 2.4-10 NIV.
