GETING VISION

A key asset in living is the possession of vision and wisdom. Wisdom includes being able to connect the dots, the ability to penetrate superficialities and the facility that enables us to find meaning in the whole.

‘For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe’ 1 Cor 1.21 NIV. Life in the Spirit is foolishness to those who live in externalities. But to God and those who seek His Face it is the wisdom of God.

‘Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment’
Prov 4,7 NLT.

GETTING VISION

If you live in the Spirit you will have more openness to life as well as being more alive to those entities that are life itself: Spirit and life. The law and its sister, the letter give an illusion of piety, clarity and solidity while generating speciousness and death. They are opposed to spirit and life and are the clothes of the body of death. They are the exquisite distillation of carnal Adam in his separated and supposedly superior state of being ‘gods knowing good and evil.’ It’s significant that the Enemy began the regime of lies with a suggestion of fear. Fear called into question the reliability of Father as our Friend. Fear resulted in our seeking ‘a greater righteousness’ in separation from God. Fear leads to blurred vision, confusion and eventually the separation of the great darkness. Almost as bad as dead men talking is blind men walking.

Fear causes many to uphold and honour the Spirit and the anointing in theory yet be bound to the letter in practice. Captivity to fear binds us to the illusion – the illusion that we are in the Spirit when are in the law. Fear can make us accept the notion that we are doing something of substance when we are doing nothing that is spirit and life. The letter brings impotence and the absence of the spirit-life of God. No matter how much we might talk ‘Holy Spirit,’ attachment to the letter denies life in the Spirit and negates the Kingdom of God. To walk in the Spirit is to have Christ alone as our life. No law. No rites. No holy days or sacred icons. It’s walking on water and it requires risk. This is life in the Spirit and its substance is the Kingdom of God.

RISK

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV.

Verna Dozier writes, “
The opposite of faith is not doubt, but fear. Faith implies risk. I will cast my life on this possibility that God is for me. I do not have to have any proof except my commitment. I do not have to claim complete understanding—that is idolatry. The faith view of reality is frightening in its openness, and so institutions are always trying to control reality with dictums and laws and creeds.” (1) But you have the opportunity to live in the Spirit, which means you live in the reality that is Christ, the Rock that is higher than yourself and the happy infilling of ‘Christ come in your flesh!’
