Christ in you - His Kingdom in the world

The actual gospel of the Kingdom is always better than the mythology. Jesus is in you and with you. ‘Staying close to Jesus’ sounds good but it is not gospel. The real gospel is more radical than this. It is Jesus is your life! We do not live in separation in this age. We live in God.

‘And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you’ Rom 8.11 NIV. Jesus is living in you imparting the spirit of life and embracing you in the spirit of sonship.

If our spiritual formation has occurred in a legalistic framework we will find ourselves striving to overcome a separation that no longer exists and live righteously under the law. Could it be that the gospel of Christ has been bent to form another gospel which is no gospel at all?

‘I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ’ Gal 1.6,7 NIV.

We have been made one with God. We fellowship with the trinity because of the vicarious humanity of Jesus. Jesus is entirely our life. We have union with God. But if we believe the lie of separation and see the Christian Quest as working to overcome this separation we have created a mind-set different to the mind of Christ. We have been lured by the Deceiver into a false reality. But your reality is Christ.

Our joy and victory is found in the order of Jesus. Should we be labouring to sustain ourselves from the fruits of the tree of knowledge we will imagine that we can live a righteous life by hearing the truth and doing it – with Jesus help of course. Much preaching and teaching occurs on this basis – in defining evil and upholding good. But the gospel of the Kingdom is the upholding and reminding that Christ is our life and that He Himself is every virtue and every form of life without limit. And He lives in you.

‘Staying close to Jesus’ is a variation on works and a revision of the new covenant into the old covenant of Adamic separation. But you have union in Christ. Christ our life is the Kingdom of God. Christ in you is His Kingdom in you. The life of Christ transmitted to the things you touch is the advance of the new creation. In Jesus we contain spirit and life and impart the same. In Abstractions we do not.

‘Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation’ Gal 6.15 NIV.

Jesus spoke living words because He was alive in His Father. We are alive in the Father and the Holy Spirit when Jesus is our life.
Jesus incarnate in us means heaven is incarnate in our being. Now the resurrection life of Jesus flows through all we are and do. The Kingdom of God is not about knowing. It’s not the knowledge of good and evil sanctified with a religious gloss or a fervent sermon. It is a state of being.

We impart life when we are spirit and life as sons of God in spirit and in truth. We advance the new creation when we speak words of spirit and life that are the natural outflows of the spirit of sonship. Non-Believers believe when touched by revelation flowing from the spirit of sonship. The separation in inherent in the pre-cross age has been abolished in Christ. The oneness of the Son and our Father is now our union with God. Don’t live in a cunningly devised fable that insinuates that Jesus’ prayer and Jesus quest has not been accomplished!

‘I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one--as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me’ John 17.21 NLT.

‘Keeping close to Jesus’ is another more version of the law of separation and death. You can no more do this as a work or a discipline than you can keep the law perfectly. Jesus is your Sabbath rest that releases you from this effort into His comfort, peace and regeneration. RESTING IN JESUS YOU BECOME HIS LIFE.

The Kingdom of God is not ‘staying close to Jesus’ any more than ‘this body of death’ is our medium and message. His message to us is ‘yes’ and ‘yes’. The Kingdom is the righteous life of Jesus becoming you. He is always with you and in you. This is the incarnation – the great reality of the new testament age. The Kingdom of God is not bringing ourselves into alignment with an ideal. It is God already loving you and living in you, bringing you into alignment with Himself.

In this age the Spirit of Jesus is in you and with you to manifest as you.

The Kingdom of God is not knowledge or information. It is Spirit and life. Yet neither is it false doctrine of the doctrine of demons. The union of Spirit and truth are never found in the order of Adam. They are expressed in us when we live in what is ours: Union with God in Christ. Righteousness is not an abstraction. It is you as a son/daughter.

‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you - they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV.
