Christ in you - His Kingdom in the world

Spirit and life is what flows through us in the spirit of sonship. This is the life inherent in the living word and absent from words formed from the law and sourced from the knowledge of good and evil. The gospel of the Kingdom is neither information or behaviour modification. It is the presence of God touching our hearts and manifesting as us – Christ come in the flesh.

This is the wealth, no, the riches of our inheritance in Christ. In a poverty mentality we live from scarcity and hoard meaningless objects just in case there comes a time when we never have enough and are destitute. Living from scarcity we forage like peasants and resent those who get more than we do – particularly when they get it without the rigours of our industry or without our hoarding our outdated and irrelevant old stuff.

‘But what does Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son.’
Gal 4.30 NIV.

But we have a new life, a new covenant in which Jesus is vicariously ourselves in all things relating to God; vicariously us to ourselves and each other. This is the inheritance of the sons of the free woman - the woman who gives birth out of the natural and is the ancestor of the Messiah who is Christ our life.

‘Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life’ 1 John 5.12 NIV. Whoever has the law does not have the Son – or only a very slim shadow of Him.

The new covenant interprets the Bible: Not the Bible the new covenant. The new covenant is Christ our life. Not life in the letter. New covenant life in the Spirit generates life unto life. The letter is always less than the sum of the parts. It sucks out life leaving a shell of death.

We can be reborn into infinite life. Or we can be stalemated and stagnant in the ideas of our childhood and youth. We can be reborn in our new covenant life. We can spend our days attempting to resurrect what should be left behind. Then again we can live in the resurrection as harbingers of the new creation.
