Christ in you - His Kingdom in the world

Do you know God? Many think they know God. They’re attached to a self-made construct. Jesus put it directly: ‘Eternal life is to know God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent.’ Notice that ‘knowing’ then ‘life’ and finally ‘God’ go together. Knowing is akin to light. We are talking revelation. As such Jesus was both life and the light who came into the world to reveal God to all AS HE IS.

‘Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent’ John 17.3 NIV. The son knows the Father and the Father knows the Son. God is revealed by God – to those who revere Jesus.

God is guessed at dimly through things that are not God. One of the saddest perversions of God comes to us through religion. The most accurate and compelling revelation of God come to us through Jesus and by the agency of Holy Spirit. To see Jesus is to see our Father.

God was not well known in the old testament, with the exception of Enoch. Even David could not know Him as well as you or I. There had been no incarnation. The Son had not yet come as Jesus of Nazareth and Holy Spirit had not yet been poured out so that the Spirit of Christ would witness to us from within and without. Mighty men and women of God in the old testament era saw Him in shadow. But the disciples saw God in His Son. SO DO WE by the illumination of the Spirit – if we desire Him and are not content to live in shadows instead of the Reality who is Christ.

‘Do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ’ Col 2.16,17 NIV.

There is one representation of God between man and God. This is Jesus Christ, God’s Son. His revelation is always reliable, always accurate and never diluted in any way. He manifests Himself through His people, through those who have sought His Face and have desired to know Him as He is. Many people display a muffled version of spirit and life because they have accommodated themselves to what they know as if this is the truth. But it isn’t. Their beliefs consist mainly of veils that can only be removed in THE CHRIST AS HE IS – the Christ of God.

At the present time many have taken it upon themselves to reject expert knowledge in exchange for common sense. In reality there common sense is just ignorance spoken out with confidence. In the Kingdom, eternal life is knowing Jesus as He is, knowing what Has been revealed about our Father by Jesus, knowing the contours of our great inheritance and knowing ourselves in all this as sons and daughters of God.

The complete and true revelation is always Jesus Himself. I cannot over-emphasis the need to eat the Son of Man. Not only will you be alive in real and full life because of Him. He will reveal Himself to you as He is – not as He is made out to be or how he may appear in our marred imagination or as represented by ‘other gospels’ and misguided prophets. Certainly it is not the law that is the representation of God’s character. It is Jesus Himself!

‘In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind’ John 1.4 NIV.

In Him is life – all you need to live in wholeness and completeness as a human being and a son of God. In Him is
the light of all men and women. He is the truth, the way to our Father, the lens through which all information must be assessed and the meaning of life in the moment and in the season.

David Kowalick writes, ‘If we come to really know Jesus as the Son of God, we will inevitably come to know the Father as well. It is impossible to know one without the other because we discover who Jesus really is by seeing the way He relates to the Father. To really know Jesus is to also know the Father.’ A person who knows the Father in Jesus is quite a different son to one who tries to know Father through the law.

But wait – there’s more! ‘No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him’ Matt 11.27 NIV. They know each other intimately and accurately. Jesus revealed His Father and continues to do so by revealing Himself and Father into our hearts and minds.

There is nothing more important than knowing Jesus as He is, so that we know Father as He is and as a result know ourselves as who we really are: Sons of God. In this state of being we are never hawkers of morality or purveyors of religion. We are always a river of living water that delights God, brings joy to ourselves and spirit and life to those whose lives we touch.
